Razer shakes up gaming chairs with the haptic Enki Pro

The gaming chair arms race is heating up, with Razer’s new Enki Pro HyperSense offering haptic feedback that uses motors to move the chair while you’re gaming.

According to Razer, the effects aren’t just limited to games, but to movies and music as well. Officially supported content, like F1 2021, Forza Horizon 5 and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, get a better experience, though almost anything that triggers haptic feedback in the controller will work.

Razer says it offers 65,000 haptic variations of +/- 1 G-force and tactile feedback. At the most extreme, the seat will stand 1.5 inches or recline to the rear. The mechanism is designed by D-Box, a company that makes haptic hardware for theme parks and simulations.

The HyperSense is based on the existing Enki gaming chair, with a 22-inch seat base, 100-degree shoulder arch, and built-in lumbar support. The big unanswered questions right now are the weight of the chair and if – or how much – assembly is needed.

Unlike the Concept Sofia gaming desk from Razer, this product will actually be available for purchase, though we don’t have a release date or price yet. If you’re looking for a more tailored seating experience, check out our updated list of the best gaming chairs.

The first S20 FE (seen below) seriously impressed us with its balance of performance and price, and the new S21 FE adds to it with a solid triple camera, a big, vibrant display, and the same powerful processor found in the flagship S21. carries forward.

It’s got some stiff competition from Google’s Pixel 6, but if you’re behind a great Samsung phone and don’t want to pay top dollar for a flagship, the S21 FE is well worth considering.

Although the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE has come to replace it, you can still buy last year’s S20 FE for $100 less than its replacement.

We loved the S20 FE well enough to award it a coveted CNET Editors’ Choice award and its solid features and affordable price mean it’s still well worth considering in 2022. Especially if you can get it through a carrier with a neat discount. Read Samsung Galaxy S20 Fan Edition review.
